Oily skin

Oily skin is caused by glands that produce sebum which results in a skin that has a greasy, thick texture. Pores are enlarge. The excess oil on the skin attracts dirt and dust from the environment. This type of skin is also prone to black heads, white heads, spots, pimples and such skin will never be clear.Oily skin needs to be cleansed thoroughly.By midday it looks shiny.Wrinkles will only appear in mature skin.

Tips for Oily Skin

  • Start with a facial wash, that will remove oil without taking away moisture.
  • Use a “gentle” astringent lotion.
  • Toning lotion is a must & choose a light-watery fluid for your moisturizer.

  • Limit washing your face to two or three times a day.
  • Use oil-based products as they dissolve sebum effectively

Dry Skin

Dry Skin is caused by under and inactive oil grands that doesn't produce enough sebum to keep the skin naturally lubricated. No visible pores. This type of skin has a dry parched appearance and has a tendency to flake easily. It is prone to wrinkles, laugh lines or premature aging wrinkles due to the inability to retain moisture as well as the insufficient production of sebum by the sebaceous glands. Dry skin often has problems in cold weather and ages faster than normal or oily skin. Droplets of perspiration appear only above upper lip. People with this type of skin normally have to choose their cosmetics carefully, and avoid environmental irritants like prolonged sun exposure. There is also a tendency for people in this grouping to have dry hair.

Tips for Dry Skin

  • For dry skin use an creamy cleanser daily to take away the dirt. Leave it on the skin before wiping away with soft cotton

  • To prevent dry skin from becoming sensitive, use warm water rather than hot for cleansing.

  • Use a thick cream moisturiser to seal in- moisture.
  • Use Dry skin moisturiser during the day and a good cream at night.

  • Light massages at least two nights a week - with musk rose oil or just sweet almond oil will help a great deal.

  • A moisturizing mask once a week will leave the skin softer and firmer.

Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin can be found on people who already come from the dry, normal and oily groups. Can have many reasons why skin becomes sensitive.Hormonal changes, illness, medications, dieting or environmental factors can be the reasons.

Sensitive skin may feel tight, flushed, irritated or itchy. Skin reacts quickly to both heat, cold and prone to allergic reactions. They show the disadvantage of bleaching, Waxing, threading etc.

Tips for Sensitive Skin

  • Always use sunscreen since your skin will burn in the sun.
  • A gentle cleansing regimen of coloring free, alcohol free, fragrance free, emulsifying and conditioning products work best.
  • Always wear a protective cream, both indoors and out.

  • If you believe you have extra sensitive skin make an appointment with a dermatologist for analysis and allergy tests.

Combination Skin

This type of skin is very common infact most people have at least two different types of facial skin at a given time. As the name suggest it is a combination of normal, oily and dry skin. Usually there is a Central greasy panel consisting of the forehead, nose and chin and a dry panel consisting of cheeks and the areas around the eyes and mouth. The greasy central panel is referred to as T – Zone.

In such cases, each part of the face should be treated accordingly - the dry areas as for dry skin and the central panel as for oily skin.

Tips for Combination Skin

  • A deep-pore cleanser will help to keep the oily T-zone clear.
  • Use oil free moisturizers and use toners with alcohol are helpful in balancing the skin and cleaning the pores.
  • Combination skin requires gentle and balanced cleansing twice daily.
  • Special attention should be paid to the T-zone as this area is prone to shine and blackheads.
  • Excessive facial treatments can leave the skin irritated and sebum secretions accelerate. Regular soap is not effective with combination skin.
So, by this time my frns u must be aware of ur skin type, take good care of ur skin as
If you have good look, you can think and feel good about yourself.
